Grades for Steel Turning and Cast Iron Milling

Sandvik Coromant has introduced two new grades. GC4315 is suitable for steel turning, and GC3330 is for milling cast iron materials. Both feature Inveio™, a unidirectional crystal orientation that, according to the company, makes them more predictable and extends tool life.
Normal crystal orientation of CVD alumina coatings is random. These grades have crystals lined up in the same direction, which creates a stronger, uniform structure. These tightly packed crystals create a strong barrier toward the cutting zone and chip.
