Nidec MVR-Ax double-column machining centres are suitable for machining large components

Nidec Machine Tool Corp. has launched the MVR-Ax double-column machining centre.

This new machine was developed to meet the needs of manufacturers of large-size components. Like its predecessors, the MVR-Hx and MVR-Cx, this machine offers a number of options, including a table size that can accommodate large-size workpieces and numerous attachments to the main axis to automate functions, such as a pallet changer.

In addition, the high-performance grinding technology and the digital technology to improve operability and maintenance capability enhance these machines’ overall productivity, the company states.

The main axis rotates at a standard speed of 6,000 RPM and an optional gear-driven main axis rotates at 4,000 RPM with a maximum torque of 3,430 Nm for deep cutting operations.

Individual axis speeds are 30 m/min. for the X axis, 32 m/min. for the Y axis, 20 m/min. for the Z axis, and 5 m/min. for the W axis.

NidecNavi, an operational assistance function, helps operators make NC programs and perform centring work efficiently, and a simple collision prevention function is used to prevent tool-workpiece collisions. In addition, with the use of DIASCOPE, the company’s IoT platform, quick, secure, hassle-free support for the machine can be accessed.
