Kitamura Machinery will reveal an all-new, all-in-one automation system for its MedCenter5AX 5-axis simultaneous vertical machining centre at IMTS 2022. Demonstrating the core qualities for lights-out production, the machining centre will feature a newly designed and field-expandable 24-station automatic pallet changer with a 120-tool ATC, all in a compact footprint.
The machine is suitable for processing highly complex, small to medium multisided parts in one setup. Its stiffness, flexibility, and cutting capability make it an appropriate choice for manufacturing precision parts for the medical, aerospace, and telecommunications industries, says the company.
The machine comes equipped with a standard, high-speed, 30,000 minˉ¹, 18-kW, direct-drive HSK-E40 spindle that offers rigidity while allowing for fine finish capabilities. Designed for small-diameter tools and hard milling, the machine offers a standard air-through spindle feature for dry cutting that can handle up to 1,000-PSI coolant through the spindle for deep-hole drilling requirements.
