Mastercam machining software includes several toolpath advancements

Mastercam 2023 machining software will be on display throughout the IMTS 2022 show floor, with more than 40 parts being programmed in Mastercam partner booths such as MC Machinery, Okuma, Doosan, and FANUC. In the company’s booth, its resellers, partners, and employees will give presentations every hour, Monday through Friday, on many different topics and features.

The software features a Unified toolpath that allows access to cut patterns when the user adds the appropriate curves. The Dynamic OptiRough and Area Roughing toolpaths now can be aware of undercut stock conditions, resulting in improvement to the toolpath motion, including less air cutting. The software also now includes B-Axis Contour Turning, a finishing toolpath that allows for rotation of the B-axis while the tool is cutting. The toolpath features a top-down workflow and provides either automatic or manual motion control.

Stas Mylek, partnerships program manager at Mastercam, will be presenting “Digitalization of the Manufacturing Floor: Are SMEs Ready for the Next Wave?” on Sept. 12 from 3:15-4:10 p.m. He will cover how emerging digitalization will impact small and medium machine shops and how best to prepare for change.
