Joint Open House features new technology and familiar faces

Sourcing new shop floor equipment can be a daunting task. But thanks to the efforts of four Ontario-based machine tool builders and distributors, this process can be a little more streamlined. The 16th annual Joint Open House takes place May 3-4, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This event is sponsored by machine tool distributors and builders based in Mississauga and Oakville, Ont. The participants are DMG MORI Canada, Elliott Matsuura Canada, EMEC Machine Tools, and Ferro Technique. It gives customers the opportunity to see the latest technology available from all four companies, including more than 60 machines under power from 22 machine tool builders.

Visitors who make it to all four locations can win prizes such as tooling certificates and free machine service. It’s a good reason to get out of the shop.

Prizes include $25,000 in tooling certificates donated by Sandvik Coromant (one $10,000 and three $5,000 tooling certificates) and $20,000 in tooling certificates donated by Kennametal (four $5,000 tooling certificates). Prize winners will be drawn from visitors who have had their event passports stamped at all four locations.

Visitors to all four locations also can receive eight hours of free service from one of the distributors. This is limited to eight hours per company and is valid through 2023. Refreshments and light meals will be served throughout the day.
