Zeller+Gmelin Zubora 77 series machining lubricant is skin-friendly

Zeller+Gmelin has developed the Zubora 77 series of lubricants without boric acid to help reduce skin irritation common when handling coolant.

The boron-free, semi-synthetic, water-miscible cooling lubricants make an important contribution to health and safety in metal cutting, the company states.

For this product, the company has removed boron, formaldehyde releasers, and monoethanolamine (MEA). It also is free of ingredients which, according to current knowledge, have an increased sensitizing potential, such as abietic acid and rosin.

The formulation makes the cooling lubricants stable over the long term and measurably extends tool life, the company states. In addition, its additives make the new lubricants process-safe even in the most difficult machining processes, and with small component geometries and diameters and high walking speeds.

The lubricants’ good flushing properties support chip removal and help ensure machine cleanliness and increased process reliability.
