DMG MORI LASERTEC 30 SLM US additive manufacturing machine uses adaptive beam control

DMG MORI has introduced the LASERTEC 30 SLM US additive manufacturing machine, which has adaptive beam control. The machine will be built at the company’s Davis, Calif., location with deliveries available in December.

The machine’s envelope is 11.8 by 11.8 by 11.8 in.

The adaptive beam control enables dynamic changes to the machine’s laser power, laser speed, and laser beam profile. Non-contact recoating improves the freedom and independence of powder spreading, the company states. It also uses a hybrid toolpath strategy that dynamically changes between laser beam profiles using a 1.2-kW laser.
