Saint-Gobain Abrasives has introduced Norton for Aluminum thin wheels for the right-angle cutting and grinding of aluminum and other nonferrous soft metals. They feature self-sharpening aluminum oxide grain and specialized bond technology for aggressive, fast cutting while resisting loading and minimizing heat on the workpiece, the company reports.
The wheels have a contaminant-free bond that does not need any waxes or lubricants. Also, a double coarse layer construction makes the wheel suitable for applications such as back grinding and notching.
