Next month Sandvik Coromant will launch more than 300 inserts in a new series of ISO S turning geometries.
Used for turning heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA) and titanium alloys, these geometries perform well in roughing and finishing operations and in continuous to interrupted cuts. They also help to ensure easy optimization, improve productivity, provide process security, and fulfill surface quality demands, according to the company.
The six different geometries can handle depths of cut from 0.2 to 10 mm with high chip control and low tool pressure. Four geometries are for moderate to small depths of cut in light roughing to finishing applications, and two stronger geometries are for larger depths of cut in roughing or light roughing.
