Small-diameter, High-feed End Mill

Kyocera Precision Tools has released the MFH Mini, a small-diameter, high-feed end mill. It is available in cutting diameters from 0.625 to 1.250 in.

This tool uses the company’s new, proprietary inserts featuring a design that reduces impact on the insert when making initial contact with the workpiece, achieving smooth cutting with low resistance. As a result, the product reduces chatter and enables increased feed rates. In addition, it exhibits enhanced chip evacuation because of the design of a new chipbreaker.

The inserts are available with both CVD and PVD coatings.

The newly developed LOGU insert with the GM chipbreaker is suitable for face milling, shouldering, contouring, slotting, pocketing, ramping, and helical milling. The inserts exhibit increased wear and fracture resistance when coating is applied to the cemented carbide base material. This enables the processing of numerous materials, including general and mold steels as well as difficult-to-cut materials, such as nickel-based heat resistant alloys.
