Sandvik Coromant’s CoroTurn® 107 features a 7-degree clearance angle at the cutting edge, making it suitable for the internal turning of small and medium-sized holes. Available as Coromant Capto boring bars or a conventional bar design, the tool can accommodate a variety of insert shapes to provide different entering angles.
This tool also excels in copy machining, according to the company. With a positive insert positioned neutrally in the holder, the tool provides sufficient clearance for all copy operations, ensuring a clean cut with excellent surface finish and unhampered chip flow, the company states.
For overhang of up to four times the bar diameter, this tool is available in solid steel bars. Carbide bars provide the ability to machine with overhang up to six times the bar diameter, while damped bars extend the capability to 10 times the bar diameter.
For external turning, this tool can be used for light roughing and finishing of small, long, and slender components.
