Helical Tool

Seco recently added a new helical tool to its Square T4-08 line of square shoulder mills featuring four cutting edges and a tangential cutter design. Suitable for slotting and contouring/ shouldering applications, this tool is for machining cast iron, steel, and stainless steels.

The inserts mount tangentially in the cutter so the cutting forces impact the thickest parts of the inserts, allowing manufacturers to achieve the required levels of strength for increased depths of cut with small diameters.

Options include normal and closepitch variations; M08 and MD08 insert geometries; and MP3000, MK2050, and F40M grades. Mounting types include Seco-Captoâ„¢, Weldon, arbor, and Combimasterâ„¢.

The tool has cutting diameters from 0.98 to 2.13 in., and depths of cut between 0.87 and 2.52 in. Corner radii range from 0.02 to 0.063 in.
