Sandvik Coromant has introduced the CoroDrill 452 for high-tolerance hole-making in composite materials.
This range of drills is suitable for creating rivet holes and bolt holes in carbon-reinforced plastics and metallic stack materials.
Each carbon fiber material has its own demands, which increases the risk for delamination or splintering. According to the manufacturer, the geometries available with these new drills reduce this risk, ensuring the necessary hole tolerances are met. The set of drills includes reamer geometries and a countersink tool with microstop for chamfering.
