DGG Chipbreaker

Tungaloy Corp. has released the DGG chipbreaker on its TungCut tools for grooving and parting applications on inserts with two cutting edges.

The new chipbreaker, which is sharp and produces low cutting force, is suitable for machining heatresistant alloys and nonferrous metals, which are often used in the aerospace industry.

The low cutting force is a result of the insert’s large rake angle that delivers efficient machining of workpiece materials that typically cause vibration. Sharp cutting edges provide a high-quality surface finish, the company states.

These tools are applicable for operations with a 2- to 6-mm groove width and are available in two grades.

NS9530 is a cermet grade for finishing of steel, and KS05F is an uncoated carbide grade with strong wear resistance for nonferrous metals, such as aluminum, copper, and titanium.
