Coolant-through System for Static Tooling

REGO-FIX® has expanded its reCool® retrofit coolant-through system for static toolholders on Swiss automatic machines.

The static system converts a standard Swiss tooling collet locking nut into a coolant-style nut that uses the company’s intRlox® antislip nut design. Changing tooling involves simply loosening and removing the locking nut and supply piping.

Implementing and changing through-tool coolant in the restricted confines of a Swiss automatic machine traditionally has required working with coolant plumbing passing through the back of the machine tool block. This system eliminates the need to work behind the tool block and thereby reduces setup and tool-changing time.

By sending coolant flow directly to the cutting edge, through-coolant operation benefits tool life and expedites chip removal, the company states.

Rated at coolant pressures of up to 1,450 PSI with a standard hose and 2,100 PSI with a braided hose, this system replaces standard ER mini-nut types 16 and 20 and works in conjunction with the company’s DS/ER and KS/ER coolant disc systems.
