Mastercam’s new Blade Expert add-on simplifies the toolpath creation process for any multibladed parts, including fans, propellers, impellers, turbines, and marine screws, the company states. Its aim is to eliminate guesswork and minimize the need for extra geometry creation.

This custom application generates smooth and gouge-free toolpaths for these complex bladed parts. It minimizes unnecessary motion at the machine, which results in a highly efficient toolpath with improved finish quality, the company states.

This software can be used to program toolpaths that remove the material from between the blades, finish the blades and splitters, and finish the floor and fillets.

Key features include automatic stock model awareness that reduces air cutting; automatic tool axis control for collision avoidance; and accurate tool tip control for seamless blending.
