Featured at IMTS 2014: Heavy-duty Horizontal Machining Center
Mitsui Seiki will demonstrate a representative of its line of large-capacity, heavy-duty machining centers, the HU100-5X. This machine was developed for numerous manufacturing industries, such as aerospace, power generation, refrigeration and compressor, mold and die, and off-road equipment.
The machine on display, suitable for larger aerospace and power generation parts, features an X, Y, Z work zone capacity of 1,500 by 1,200 by 1,200 mm. The machine accommodates a weight up to 2,000 kg.
Other features include maximum spindle torque of 2,000 ft.-lbs., HSK 125A tool taper, dual pallet changer, an automatic workpiece/fixture measuring and compensation system, noncontact laser tool setting device, 3-D tool compensation, dynamic feature offset, and Fanuc 30iM control.
