Sodeck Inc. AP250L wire electrical discharge machine

Sodick Inc. has released the AP250L wire electrical discharge machine (EDM).

This EDM features the company’s new Eco-Cut O technology, which, according to the company, reduces the time required to manufacture precision dies and parts.  It also increases productivity and reduces energy consumption. 

Using oil dielectric, this new technology enables the EDM to machine parts faster than water dielectric or standard oil dielectric, according to the manufacturer, and users can obtain the optimal surface finish of oil dielectric with the speeds of water dielectric.

Like all EDMs in the AP series, this model is linear motor-driven. It has X, Y, Z travels of 9.8 by 5.9 by 4.7 in.  It can accommodate workpieces up to 15.7 by 10.6 by 3.9 in.
