3.5 R8 CAD/CAM Software

Tebis America has released the latest version of its CAD/CAM software, 3.5 R8, for high-performance machining.
The new release provides for significantly increased machining volumes and higher cutting speeds from roughing to finishing milling applications. The software’s point distribution functionality helps ensure better surface quality in high-speed machining, the company states.
The software also offers newly developed probe geometry. It supports all high-speed and high-feed milling cutters with specific geometries and precisely offsets their contours. Down to residual stock, all areas are precisely calculated and machined, which results in higher productivity because of maximum machining volumes.
Included in this software is a new measuring function. Measuring paths can be created with the same methods as tool paths, using the same automation functions. A measuring probe determines the quality of the manufactured components directly at the machine. Deviations from the target are displayed at the machine controller and can be corrected without delay. Another function allows a user to import, graphically display, and document the measurement result.
The software mills with 3-D radius correction to compensate for tool wear. The deviation from the target can be calculated with the new functions for direct measuring at the machine.
