Haas will unveil two new machines at CMTS 2009: the ST-30 – live tool/C- axis CNC turning center and the DT-1 high-speed drill/tap machine.
The ST-30 is the latest Haas turning center. It has a maximum cutting capacity of 21 by 26 in., with maximum swings of 31.75 in. over the front apron and 20.75 in. over the cross slide. The standard 30-HP spindle spins to 3,400 RPM. The machine displayed at CMTS is being shown with an optional two-speed gearbox as well as full live-tool capability with the C axis.
The DT-1 machine features X/Y/Z travels of 20 by 16 by 15.5 in., a 15,000-RPM BT30 inline spindle, and a 20-HP motor.
The company also will display the VM-6 Mold Maker vertical machining center (VMC), which includes a TR210 simultaneous, five-axis trunnion; the VF-5/50XT, VF-4SS, and VF-2 VMCs; and the OM-2A Office Mill and TL-3 toolroom lathe.
