The new Mi8 five-axis turning and milling center from Amada Wasino has a B axis with 270-degree range of motion that is capable of five-face machining in one setup.

Components include fixed-station tools for turning, 20-station tool changer for rotary tools, as well as 8,000-RPM main turning and 20,000-RPM milling spindles. With the integration of a robot, this machine can also perform unattended, small production runs of carbon and copper electrodes.

According to the company, recent automotive advancements such as electric hybrids, hydrogen engines, new-generation diesel, and gas fuel injection system parts can be manufactured with this machine.

The multifunction center integrates a tool changer and autoloader, which, according to the manufacturer, makes it ideal for the die/mold industry.
