Heavy-duty Lathes

Knuth Machine Tools USA has introduced the DL E series of universal lathes for heavy-duty and single-part production.

These lathes are able to handle rough to fine machining operations in a variety of materials.

Equipped with a 5.1-in. spindle bore, and up to a 79-in. swing and a 315-in. distance between centers, these lathes also feature a heavy, cast-iron base and machine bed with strong ribbing to minimize vibrations and improve stability.

This series come standard with a 30-HP motor to ensure fast chip removal and induction-hardened and grounded guideways to maintain accuracy.

The lathes are built with a joystick-style control to handle X- and Z-axis rapid traverse. They also feature a hand lever for tailstock adjustments and separate rapid feed motors for the X and Z axes.
