CWA Foundation, CWBi Partner with St. Joseph High School to Launch National Curriculum

The Canadian Welding Association Foundation (CWAF) and the Canadian Welding Bureau Institute (CWBi) have partnered with St. Joseph High School in Edmonton, Alta., to roll out ACORN, Canada’s first national end-to-end welding curriculum.

The no-cost welding curriculum uses such tools as 3-D printing, a mobile application, and textbooks with augmented reality, providing uniformity across Canadian high schools.

In addition, CWAF has launched its Secondary School Welding Helmet Initiative and will be distributing 1,800 welding helmets to various high schools across the country that have full-time welding programs; St. Joseph will be receiving 22 welding helmets.

Also, St. Joseph High School will be receiving $50,000 over 10 years from a funding partnership between CWAF and the Marinucci Family Foundation to go towards its welding program.
