Renishaw has purchased the business of R&R Sales, a U.S.-based manufacturer of fixtures for the measurement and inspection market. According to Renishaw, this move supports its increasing focus on metrology system sales, such as those involving the Equator gage system, which requires fixturing devices.
R&R has 19 employees and is based in Grand Haven, Mich., and has supplied the measurement industry with both modular and custom fixtures for CMM and vision systems for more than 20 years. The R&R Fixture is used to hold parts for dimensional inspection in almost every manufacturing field, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical, and household appliances.
“We all look forward to this new opportunity and being a part of the Renishaw group. We sincerely believe that Renishaw’s extensive worldwide network of offices will help promote our fixturing on a more international basis, and we also hope to incorporate Renishaw’s manufacturing processes within our plant to further improve our operational efficiencies,” said R&R President John Ray.
“We are very pleased to announce our acquisition of R&R Sales. We have known the company and its products for many years, and it has a very strong presence in the U.S. where it supplies fixturing to many manufacturers. With our new measurement products, such as the Equator gage, and our existing global customer base for measurement products, we believe that we can significantly expand the market for R&R fixtures,” said Renishaw Chairman and Chief Executive Sir David McMurtry.
