Wilson Tool Celebrates Press Brake Tooling Division’s 20th Anniversary

Wilson Tool International® celebrated 20 years of press brake tooling production during its “Bending Into the Future” open house in August at its White Bear Lake, Minn., campus. Fifty manufacturers attended the event, where they viewed a history of the company, learned about its press brake tooling options, toured the manufacturing facility, and socialized during lunch and an after-event party.

Mike Sosnoski, press brake division director, and Steve Brown, press brake internal sales and design supervisor, walked guests through the growth of the division since 1992 and the expansion of the press brake tooling line. Today’s tooling styles include European style, American Precision®, WT Style Precision™, Exacta conventional standard tooling, and custom tooling for unique bending applications, as well as a line of clamping systems. Frank Rajk, vice president— Press Brake Div. for Wilson Tool Canada, discussed tooling for forming heavy-gauge material.

OEM representatives from Cincinnati Incorporated, Radan, LVD/Strippit, and Prima Power talked about pairing Wilson tooling with their equipment.

During the plant tour guests saw tooling being produced on the CNC machining centers, going through heat-treating and laser-hardening processes, and flowing through the Nitrex ® coating line.
