Manufacturing Day in Canada

How will you celebrate Manufacturing Day on October 3, 2014? It’s not too early to think about how you can show your commitment to your industry and to future generations who will run manufacturing businesses in the decades to come.

Co-produced by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (the parent organization of CIM—Canadian Industrial Machinery magazine), NIST, NAM, ISM, and the Manufacturing Institute, Manufacturing Day has quickly gained momentum as last year 834 organizations, including 13 Canadian companies and technical schools, participated across North America. This was more than three times the number of host organizations in 2012’s inaugural event.

What’s it all about? Manufacturing Day is a grass-roots movement that lets manufacturers tell the story of today’s manufacturing right on the shop floor. It’s a chance to show off the innovative culture, safe environment, and advanced technology of your company to your community’s students, prospective employees, educators, and government officials via an open house format. Manufacturing is a great career option, and it’s time the world knows it! On Manufacturing Day, your invitees can make an informed choice about manufacturing and their own future.

Visit www.mfgday.com to get started with planning your company’s open house and find all the terrific tools available to help you—from industry statistics to an educator’s toolkit you can offer to local schools. It’s easy—just register your company on the site, use the available tools, and get ready for the future.

Other groups in Canada are joining FMA’s call to participate in Manufacturing Day. Get your chance to shine in your own community and to put Canada’s manufacturing effort on the world stage where it belongs. Join the 834 companies that opened their doors to more than 35,000 guests in North America. Plan a Manufacturing Day event, and be promote of Canada’s manufacturing future!
