Industry Veterans Launch AM Business

With the recent installation of new, state-of-the-art additive metal 3-D printing equipment, Additive Metal Manufacturing (AMM), Toronto, offers local capability to design, develop, and rapid prototype using the additive manufacturing process.

Having experienced significant loss of its manufacturing sectors over the last three decades, Canada must embrace this “do differently” approach to be globally competitive. It is through this type of emerging additive metal technology that the company wants to lead the shift with the introduction of the latest technologies. According to the company, AM may offer a significant competitive advantage, and it complements industry advanced manufacturing standards to support repatriation of manufacturing to Canada.

“We anticipate rapid growth of our independent, no-conflict service bureau that offers a low risk barrier to entry for industrial manufacturers who wish to avail themselves of this new emerging technology,” said Norman Holesh, CEO.

AMM was launched by Holesh, David Slimowitz, and Nigel Southway, three Canadian industry leaders who have more than 100 years of combined operational experience in the global manufacturing sector. They are developing collaborative relationships with clients and local centers of excellence and learning to assist the Canadian manufacturing sectors on their competitive journey.

AMM is assembling a young engineering team from Canadian colleges and universities to embrace these new technology challenges and develop the capability to create an additive metal manufacturing center of excellence in southern Ontario and later in the rest of Canada.
