FABTECH Canada Returns to Toronto

As the Canadian manufacturing industry gears up for 2014, FABTECH® Canada is returning to Toronto with a significantly expanded show in terms of both size and scope.

“The decision to expand the show is based on the success of the 2012 premiere event, which was the first time the world-renowned FABTECH brand launched a show in Canada,” said Janine Saperson, show manager for SME, which is hosting the show with its partners, the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl. (FMA), the American Welding Society (AWS), Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), and Chemical Coaters Association Intl. (CCAI).

The only event of its kind in this country, FABTECH Canada will take place March 18-20 at the newly renovated Toronto Congress Centre. It will feature the latest technologies and trends in fabricating, welding, metal forming, stamping, coating, and finishing.

“The success of the FABTECH brand, both in Canada and around the world, is the result of the strong combination of the five partners, each of whom brings a slightly different perspective to the show,” said Mark Hoper, vice president of expositions for FMA. “Together, we are excited to bring an expanded event to such a key market as Canada in 2014.”

Included in the 2014 expansion is the addition of partners PMA and CCAI a larger conference and welding areas and new finishing and stamping pavilions.

“In Canada there is growing demand for the technical expertise and industry insight provided by an event like FABTECH,” Saperson said. “In Ontario alone there are 1.7 million manufacturing professionals, the largest amount of manufacturing employees of any jurisdiction in Canada or the U.S., and the show is geared towards the needs of these employees, from industries such as automotive and energy to transportation and construction, as well as businesses that either produce or rely on equipment and machinery in their day-to-day operations.”
