Ontario Distributors to Host Joint Open House

A 2006 experiment featuring three distributors has grown and continues to be expanded on. Now six years after its creation, a joint open house event sponsored by machine tool distributors based in Mississauga and Oakville, Ont., will be held again this year on May 4 and 5.

The hosts of this year’s event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, are DMG Canada, Elliott Matsuura Canada, EMEC Machine Tools, Ferro Technique, and Single Source Technologies (SST) Canada. The event gives customers the opportunity to see the latest technology available from all five companies.

“This event gives customers a chance to see some of the best machine tool technology available today,” explained Ferro Technique Vice President Brian Donnelly. “It also showcases our facilities and allows visitors to talk to our application and service staffs.

“We understand that time is a very valuable commodity these days. This event gives manufacturers the opportunity to see a lot of new equipment in a short period of time,” said Donnelly. “All five locations will have machines under power and running demos.”

In addition to the machine tools on display, auxiliary equipment suppliers will be on hand at all locations to answer questions on topics such as software and tooling.

The five participants provide transportation to and from all the locations.

This year any customer purchasing a machine from any of the distributors will be eligible for a tooling package certificate valued at $5,000. To qualify, customers must visit all locations.
