The Canadian Welding Association (CWA) organizing committee has planned for its first annual conference to take place Sept. 26 - 28 at the Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, Ont.
Attendees will learn about improving process technologies and production efficiencies while also becoming familiar with new technological developments in welding research, applied research, productivity improvement methodologies, robotic intelligence, laser advancements, welding gas applications, spatter-free welding, maintenance and repair analysis, welding power source evolution, pipe automation implementation for the oil sands industry, process automation, lean manufacturing applications, and cost analysis.
During the three-day event seminars will be split into three areas: productivity, process, and consumables and safety.
In other welding industry news, the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Group has moved to a new location in Milton, Ont.
This new building provides the CWB clients with expanded theoretical and practical training facilities to enhance learning.
The state-of-the-art Advanced Welding Technology Centre (AWTC) is the first of its kind in North America. The CWA and CWB are committed to enhancing the welding community’s technological knowledge. The AWTC features training to industrial and educational institutions across Canada. Welding industry suppliers have contributed equipment showcasing advanced technologies from plasma welding to robotics. The AWTC will provide leadership on how the welding industry can become more efficient, productive, and competitive, reports the CWB.
