Sandvik Coromant Canada Hosts Manufacturing Day Event
Sandvik Coromant Canada, Mississauga, Ont., hosted 140 students for its recent Manufacturing Day event as part of an effort to draw greater attention to the opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide.
Students from M.M. Robinson High School, Port Credit Secondary School, Weston Collegiate Institute, Innisdale Secondary School, and East York Collegiate Institute attended the event.
The company showcased its Productivity Center, where the visitors had the opportunity to watch a live machine demonstration on an Okuma MB-56 milling machine that was creating a guitar body. Participants had the chance to engage in hands-on activities as well as hear from guest speakers in the manufacturing industry, including speakers from Sandvik Coromant, Skills Ontario, SME Canada, In-House Solutions, and Edge Factor.
